It aims to reduce the use of hazardous materials, maximize energy efficiency during the product’s lifetime, the reliability or biodegradability of defunct products and factory waste. Green IT is important for all classes of systems, ranging from handheld systems to large-scale data centers. Government regulation is only a part of an overall green computing idea. The work habits of computer users and businesses have to be modified to minimize adverse impact on the global environment. With the help of an example, explain the initiatives taken by an Indian organization to practice Green IT.
